Sorry, I am busy in this coming week so I am hard to share the knowledge of filter by these time.
Perhaps, currently i am busy rushing out a project confirmation documentation. You should know that doing a project in cleanroom or pharmaceutical room is very critical and rushing. In these room, many technical specification should be ready to support your provided products. A lot of documentation and certification you should be ready for the project.
Any documentation need to have approval/ certificate to crtify that this documentation/ test report is not fake. Any problem happened in the cleanroom and pharmaceutical room would be highly traceable and reponsibled by the related team. It is very critial for single item you provided to this project, because for pharmaceutical room, it is deal with human life and for cleanroom, it deal with machinery and product performance that produced under the environment. Therefore, the items that supplied should meet certain requirement refer to ISO 14644 standard or GMP practice standard and also the User Requisition Sheet (URS) which compiled by the user or owner.
So, doing a project is very tough. And take note that doing project you will always fae the chanllenge of time, user will rushing you for their item in hurry. Many pojects also like that, this is always due to the planning and management of the project manager.
However, I am not only busy on the technical documentation preparation for the project. I also have to be internal technical support engineer for our sales executive. Besides that, I also have to monitor and arrange and planning for production schedule of our factory (include all the production stuff management like BOM assembly into the computer system). I also doing the work for purchaser, finding new supplier with lower price, and sourcing for the new design of product raw material. So far, I aslo been given task to create a new item code for any single item which we do not have their item code in the computer system. I am also doing the costing and pricing for our sales team on any odd size products (customade product) and sorucing any item that is not avaiable in our factory.
Therefore, from the flow chart of operation, my character is will appear in a number of time. After sales get the inquiry, my character start with techical support, sourcing, item code creation, pricing, production, deliver monitoring...
Haha, so now plus one project preparation, therefore, i will kindly stop a while on writting blog... Haha... Wait until I finish it first.

IEM seminar
Today I went to a half day seminar organised by IEM, Malaysia and sponsored by Welcome Air Tech (Saiver AHU manufacturer).
I was there with my fellow colleague. My boss is one of the speaker for the title of Filtration system in Air Handling Unit (AHU).
In the first presentation, there is a speaker from Hong Kong. He was explaining the Eurovent standard to us on the energy conservation in AHU. Perhaps, the english spoken was not so clear but I was able to record down some notes. The main important discussion in this presentation was the testing criteria requested by the Eurovent Standard, EN1886 and EN13053. The testing requested in the standard includes the mechanical strength of the casing, filter bypass leakage, air leakage, thermal transmittance and thermal bridging, acoustic insulation and coil performance. Perhaps, this information we can get it from the website of www.eurovent-certification.com
Second speaker also from Hong Kong. He was presenting the issue of acoustic concern in the AHU and how its help to conserve the energy usage. Perhaps, there is a issue of type of motor used in the AHU which will affect the acoustic level. There are two type of motors are discussed, which are DIDW- backward curve fan and Belt driven motor. However, I was not able to record all the comparison between them. May be someone attended the seminar may helps me to write in.
Next, there is a speaker from Welcome Air Tech presented the AHU selection program module. That program is very useful for customer and AHU manufacturer to select the AHU as per their requirement. As been told, this program is designed from Saiver, Italy. It is very fanstatic that the software can directly print out visual drawing of AHU and user can change the parameter of dimension, temperature and others in the software to select the best and suitable AHU for the project.
Lastly, my boss was presented the Air Filtration System in the AHU system. He show a lot of pictures and technical information about the filter, including the standard discussed in the filter field. The picture has a very clear visual viewing for problem faced in the real world. The picture also has the message for the user and owner that if the filters are not well maintained, the air quality in the spaces will be highly affected by air pollution.
The presentation also includes the filter installation in AHU. He also discussed about the filter servicing type, upstream service and downstream service. This servicing method will affects the filter types used in the AHU. Upstream/ downstream service also has its advantages and disadvantages. May be we can look into next time.

World of filtration- Part 2
Hihi, come again the part 2 of the filtration knowledge sharing... As per mentioned previously, Air filter is divided into primary, secondary, HEPA, ULPA and SULPA filter.
Today we may talk about the primary filter. Primary filter commonly available in the market is disposable type and washable type. This type of filter basically used to filter the bigger particles of the air stream (5um to 10um) and prolong the filter life for high efficiency filter.
Disposable type filter means as per its name. It is disposed after the final pressure drop of the filter is exceed. Therefore, this type of filter should be produced by environmental friendly material. It is proposed to the manufacturer that the proper disposable method of this kind of filter should be listed and presented to the user. This helps user to have proper dispose them into the environment. Basically, now the user usually just disposable into their rubbish bin. Do you know that this filter is made of the sythetic fiber as their media. And synthetic fiber will dissolve into powder after expose to the UV light (sun light). The powder of the fiber will travel along the environment by the wind, this will polluting the air. Perhaps, I may suggest to buried the media into the ground.
Next, this type of disposable filter frame is made by the moisture resistant card board because this filters are installed in the Air Handling Unit where the relative humidity is very high. But I can tell you that many manufacturers in the world are not practising this very well. They may only apply the simple card board for cost saving purpose. I also highly suggest that we can have a recycle used paper board for this purpose with reasonable price.
However, in the commercial issue, many manufacturers thinking of cutting cost and production process, many issue of the proper filtration is neglected. We have to know that pre filtration is very important to control the performance of high efficiency filter. If we are not taking good care of pre filtration, then the next stage (high efficiency filter) will be affected.
Oh.. Sorry.. Normally primary filters are allocated into G class (according to EN779 standard) or MERV 1-8 class (according to ASHRAE 52.2).
Besides that, for this disposable type filters, in commercial they are made by pleated media to increase the face area of the media, so that the life of filter can be prolonged.Perhaps, this also may reduce the initial pressure drop of the filter.
However, in the market today, some manufacturer plan to cut down the cost of production, the number of pleats for the filter is reduced to provide the lower cost to users. Such as 24 inches x 24 inches x 2 inches disposable type should have 28 pleats, they reduce the pleats into 15 pleats/ 21 pleats. This action is not offended but please take note that this will reduce the face area of media to filter the particles. Consequence reduce the life of the filter. Therefore, in this practice, you may have to frequently change the filters (however, in Malaysia, many companies don't constantly monitor their filter). Frequently change the filters may end up with higher maintenance cost (even though the initial cost is lower). The maintenance cost includes labor cost, filter cost, production shut down cost and others. If we insist to run the filter under its final pressure drop, we have to pay for the high energy cost on running the blower.

What is Air Filter
i think it will be bored if there is no picture to show you on the filter unit. Briefly as below,it is the whole range of air filtration system.

World of filtration- Part 1
Hai.. Hai..
Again to express myself, I am currently working as an engineer in a filtration company. This filtration company is well known Malaysia brand. It represent Malaysia in the world market. We are so proud on this company brand.
Perhaps, for the part 1 of world of filtration. We shall start with some general information on filtration.. Oh.. first of all, we are talking on Air filtration in this parts (because I am doing air filtration).

Air filtration is a very important system in the HVAC design. Air filtration purposely to filter the particles from the atmoshphere and particle generated from being (human, animal, insects and any others). In other word, it is a way to keep our air clean and controlled.
If we are still remember the tragedy of SARS which happened years ago. Air filtration is highly requested to filter the air (filter the virus by HEPA filter) in the ambulance (reserached done by Taiwan). Air filtration is also promoted to use during the haze in South East Asia. Air iflter also used in Tubistis patient room. Air filter is also widely used in cleanroom design for the semiconductor company, pharmaceutical industry and hospital (Operating Theatre).
Cleanroom is a space that some of the parameters (humidity, temperature, air change per hour, ventilation, cleanliness) is controlled within the required specification.
In short, Air filtration is highly requested for the world right now, where the air is polluted, the air is not clean. We are breathing in a lot of polluted air outside the room (however, somewhat the air in the room also not well controlled).
Haha, so are you still want to continue breathing unconditioned/ uncontrolled/ polluted air in your office and your living building (don't talk about outside because it is hard to be controlled)? If you want to make a change, please learn more about air filtration, how to reserve a clean air in your living area.

Haha, I think I m losses myself in this blog. I missed up so many interesting and valubale experience to share in this blog. So sad.
I was a long time journey away from this blog. i am coming back to share and express my learning and experience observe during my journey of working.
It has been a year of learning as per calculated from last year (after my graduation). I see some of my friends are changing their career here and there within this year, some of them were just losing their job in this economic crisis.
How about me? haha, I am still in the same company as a position of any things. Haha. Any thing because I am doing some things in the company.A lot of work load burden on my shoulder.
Actually, I am given a great oppurtuninty to make decision in the company but I scare and I worry... My working experience is little compare to others colleagues. Why me? I just want to be a learner for my future, seem like now I am doing in stead of learning.
However, Slowly I will presented my story of learning in this company. Start with my little position, engineer and my learning on filtration...

Letter to my ex- partner
Dear my frens,
Why look like all are discussing my matter of buying a little house for little sweet home in the future. Yes, I would like to buy a house with RM150k or below. I like it to be single storey house, and semi-attached is preferred.
Look like our frens here doing well in the developer company. I would like to buy a house in Butterworth, BM, Batu Kawan, Kulim or Juru area. Can you help me to look for it.
I do know there are a lot of minor consideration and problem to hanle in buying a new house. Perhaps, there is a lot of legal fees as well, and the BLR rate consideration. The BLR rate is lower now since the Bank Negara yet to adjust it. Perhaps, the loan rate for different condition of the house developed also has different rate of interest for the loan, such as under construction, as built or second hand house, the rate of interest are different.
I also informed that buying a new house is very hard, it may be a property or may be a liability for a person. Therefore, i need advice from the expert. Do you know any good developer in those area as I mentioned above? I find a developeer named ASAS DUNIA is quite a nice and honest developer because my current house (where i live with my parents) is developed by the company. may I know is there any good developer out there. I wish to buy a house which is under developed/ construction so that the house should be ready before my marriage on 28. Haha...
Perhaps, I also have to prevent my house to be flooded with water, therefore the land should be good to prevent any flood affection. I also don't like to stay together with a lot of Malays and Indian. Hopefully there is a Buddhist temple near my house. Perhaps, the land should be free holder.
However, i would like to know more about your plan for future as well, come, please share it here. For us as a reference.

Pretty good, I am in this company. Currently, i am working hard and smart to learn the organization method of the company. As been told, in a company, we do have to observe their 6M strategies:
Money
Management
Method
Machinery
Material
Marketing
These are the six keywords to learn and observe. If you are in low performance company, you may have the responsibilty to help and assist them. Company achieve these six M, means we can totally learn this six M from the company as become our own knowledge application. Please do not complain but do more to learn and help.
However, family and people around you are the main concern of your success, eventhough you work very nice and good, but if your work and achievement do not accepted by others, then you are nothing. First, you have to be achieve as the HERO among your family. Don't just be the HERO in your company.
I believe, FAMILY is our future goal to share with, therefore please constantly pay more concern on them. Even you are billionaire, but no one beside you to share, i can tell you, now you are nothings. Work and Family, please try to balance them to fulfill th need among both. therefore, your management skill should be applied, then what you learn in Buddhism should be applied.

Indonesia and Genting
This week, my boss is going to Indonesia. He is invited to there for giving a short course, He asks my friend to follow him. But my friend just refuses it, why he doesn't ask me, I sure go. This is a golden opportunity to expose to outside country.
Perhaps, Our boss goes to Indonesia this week, we also plan to Genting company trip, without boss. Haha. We will move on Saturday morning to Genting. Almost all the officers are going. Perhaps, I was forced to go because they ask us to pay the deposit of RM50. Eventhough you don't go, Your deposit will not refunded. Sien....
Therefore, We have to go. I also had paid RM50. It is wasting of money. I will spend a lot of money on August because I have to go company trip and prepare for my convo. Pokai liao.... Salary is the same for the month because no OT and allowances added, therefore no extra income for this month. Spending will over the limit.
However, it should be fun to enjoy my convo, my parents and girl friend are coming to celebrate with me. Many many more friends will be around on that day. I am waiting the day to come. Hopefully, the company trip will be enjoyable also.
Actually, the relation between I and my company officers are still very fresh and provided we are not in the same channel, always. But, they are very cute and funny as well. Hope I can join into their group very soon....
Lastly, I wish to have enjoyable company trip in this weekend and free working days while boss is not in for these whole week. Hahahaha.....

Fair????
Recently, I saw a case happened in my company. Two of my friends want to quit the job, my boss is trying to hold them down in the company. These two friends are totally new in this industry- air filtration & clean room.
Some other colleagues are wandering why my boss trying to hold them around in the company since their patience and interest is not at here. Because my boss want to hold them in, therefore I am the one have to be the middle man. But I get nothing from that.
First, one of my friends have the opportunity to learn software simulation as my friend want, boss ready to set up a simulation unit for him in company. So nice, what am I do, just stay still in the product development department, be a small executive.
Second, have to be the middle man between them, trying to say good words for each side. What I get, nothing, just time consuming after work to stay back listening what boss try to discuss with them.
Third, the other friend has the opportunity to drive Toyota Harrier to Melaka with boss, and meet big customer. Boss just want to let him feel exciting and interest to be presenter. What I do? prepare the software for him to bring to Melaka, prepare the material he wants to present while he is going to have interview in other company (Honda). Perhaps, I should go to support technically as proposed by our manager, but the dream break.

What am I doing? Sometimes I am jealous why those want to quit can have this opportunity but I who is going to stay has nothing reward. I don't think it is fair. Do you think it is fair?

However, I do try to control my anger, reduce my jealous because I know what I want from this company and I will make sure I will get it before I quit.
Some other colleagues are wandering why my boss trying to hold them around in the company since their patience and interest is not at here. Because my boss want to hold them in, therefore I am the one have to be the middle man. But I get nothing from that.
First, one of my friends have the opportunity to learn software simulation as my friend want, boss ready to set up a simulation unit for him in company. So nice, what am I do, just stay still in the product development department, be a small executive.
Second, have to be the middle man between them, trying to say good words for each side. What I get, nothing, just time consuming after work to stay back listening what boss try to discuss with them.
Third, the other friend has the opportunity to drive Toyota Harrier to Melaka with boss, and meet big customer. Boss just want to let him feel exciting and interest to be presenter. What I do? prepare the software for him to bring to Melaka, prepare the material he wants to present while he is going to have interview in other company (Honda). Perhaps, I should go to support technically as proposed by our manager, but the dream break.

Convo preparation
Haiii, my convocation date is near already. Now I have to find a hotel for my parents and sister. Looking a hotel near my university, UM. I have many selections in this area, perhaps what I am looking for is a totally cheap and valuable room for my family.
I had look for LIsa De Inn which is cheapest in PJ area as I know, but the room have been totally book by UM adminstrator. Aiyo, don'y know why they book the whole hotel and didn't leave one for me. However,the hotel is not so standard, why he book that hotel. I also don't know.
Perhaps, I also find the hotel around the PJ area, like Armada, Eastin, Crystal Crown and etc. Finally I choose Crytsal Crown for my family to stay during my convo, is a family room. It is only cost RM 218.50. It is quite reasonable price.
For a convocation, I have to come out with a big amount of money. So terrible. My salary is not high but still have to pay for that.
Previously, I was think to let my family to stay in my current house, so that I can save money. But seem like i have a roomate, his family also coming and they have 5 person, which are many people to rent a hotel. So I let himto use my room then i go our to rent a room looooo.

Working Trick
In a working place, you will see many people have their own method to maintain their salary in hand. Some of them usually like to say they want to quit their job, as a reason for their boss to give what they want for their work or salary.
Those people are very good in attracting their boss to focus on them. They use this type of trick to increase their salary or obtain what they want or even let boss to have attention on them.
In my working place, they are many people do like that, I am aware of that. I am thinking should I do this type of trick to attract boss attention. I want to see what my boss will react to their request, is he an intelligent and wise boss?
May be the people like me will be always work hard and fulfil all my boss need, but after a period, my boss don't see what I am doing. i feel that these days my boss have less attention and no patience on my department. I am working as product development engineer, is it my work can not get attention from my boss.
I see some of my colleague used to say they want to quit and boss try to discuss with them and provide them with their request. Should I do like that?
Why am I so crave of this attention? Am I worry that I don't have great attention from boss, boss will not appreciate what I do? What happen to me? I have my own goal to achieve, I want to be at the top of management for one day.
Should I do something to attract boss attention and let him know I want to sit on your chair in the future. I want to take over your place and I capable to take it.

Planning go back to hometown
Actually, this weekend I am planning to go back to my sweet hometown in Penang, but someone in my hometown has blocked me to go back.
She is an important person in my life. She doesn't want me to go back, so how? I am very miss my hometown, especially her. She says I am so busy in my work, she don't need me to go back, wasting my time and money. Perhaps, she also very angry because I do forget to everyday update her with my current condition.
Everyday I do have to work for extra time in the site, even though at night, I also have to go to site. I try to learn everything I can in my work.
So I am very confuse now, whether I wan to go back to hometown or not. Very confuse, how.....

Lazy
Today, I am very lazy and tired. I had to be at WD to troubleshoot FFU unit. Very tired because I was just back from there at 1am yesterday, but I still go to office today on time.
Therefore, at the office, I feel very tired and sleepy. Suddenly, I have been told to TI for troubleshooting the FFU unit at there with my senior colleague. However, the task has been cancelled due to the unprepared approval from TI. So we still wait in teh office.
Afternoon, I receive a call to help in WD for troubleshooting the control box of the FFU units. Always deal with the FFU unit, very annoyance. I have to be at WD hurry with the converter to replace the old one.
WD is a very messy project which is improper prepared and planned. I hate this project, may be not only me, but all my colleague also have a bad feel on that. But, our sister company's engineer always push us to help them without any profit for us.
From this project, I learn a lesson also which is planning and prepare well before you act. So that, you do predict something will be happened and you do think a way to solve it.

Young Age in Working
Haha, I was just back from work, seeing all my housemate sleeping so sweet on their beds, and I was just came back from site work.
Is it good that I am so hardworking, working until the late night. Yes, many people do think that, Aiya you are just a fresh graduate, you should be more hardworking, when people ask you to do something, just do it, like what NIKE says. Because you can learn something from there even though you have to be the postman for the company. Please do learn something from what you are doing.
Yes, I do have this thought before, JUST DO IT and LEARN FROM THERE. But now I am very tired while working. Many officers and engineers from my company decide to resign from their position after my boss comes back from US next week. Many of my colleague says the boss is bad and organizes things unsystematically.
Somehow I was also affected by their words, I did thought my boss is bad. But now, I know what I want from the company, why I stay in this company even thoough there are many big companies out there. No matter how is the boss, if I can get what I want fro here, then I will stay.
"LEARNING WILL NOT END, DOING WILL NOT FINISH" so please do make sure what you want to learn and what you want to doin this stage, FINISH the task as to complete your aim for this stage. Then, climb up to next stage when you already finish this stage. One stage by one stage. Please do have patience in what you are learning and doing.

Learning
Do you know that i have to work on Saturday? Haha, I think many of us are working on saturday as well. How is your works on saturday, got a feeling of waiting to be holiday? bringing children to play? Have your rest time planned on the weekend?
I have just receive a call from my boss in US, ask me to support one project in WD. Helping to solve the problem of Fan Filter Unit in WD. I was shock by this, suddenly I feel that my anger was arise from the heart. What! Why it is so sudden? I was not able to accept it.
However, I do call to the person incharge in the project. I do provide them some guidance and suggestion through the phone. So, actually I don't have to go site, just have to provide the guidance here. I was doubt taht my boss ask me to go to the site and support them, but I have nothing to support them since i also still learning to solve those problem. He asked me to learn, this is the good opportunity to learn, but how am I going to learn? by myself, try and error? work until midnight with no result?
I think some other experience senior should support this project. Perhaps, I am new and lack of knowledge, if a senior do accompany to there, I will go since I have a guidance and I can learn more from the senior.
What do you think about this decision? I just provide them some guidance and solution as I know, and I do shut off my phone at night to avoid any disturbance from them. Haha, I want to learn something but not learning like that.
Learn must be effective with the right methods. Learn must have a mentor/ book to guide.

The story of the water jet
Yesterday, I was jogging with my manager at Kota Kemuning Park. There is a very wonderful place to relax and rest.
I was a few step in front of my manager, therefore I slow down and stopped on the side, watching the water jet up from the pond. Yup, there is a big pond in the middle of the park.
While watching the water, I saw a phenomenon which may already experienced by other. The water is jet up to certain level of height above the pond by the water pump. As we know, if we increase the pump power and its capacity, definitely the water is jet higher than this level. We also note that if increase the pump power, it will increase the cost, in the sense of initial cost and energy cost. If you increase the power, the water will jet higher because pressure is sufficient to pump the water to next step. It should understand by every people.
But do we see this phenomenon in our life? I mean our daily living activities. I do. I observe this phenomenon used to be happened in the working life. When you are pushed by your boss, give you a heavy pressure, you definitely will work harder and harder,but in the sense your boss also invest the time and effort to train you.
In stead boss should not give over pressure to worker until the worker to be exhausted. I believe the world is fair. If you want to get something, you have to give up something/ sacrifice something. But it can not be too much/ over the limit, because the thing can not stand for that, it will break.
You and I will get nothing at the last if you and I giving too much pressure to each other. Therefore, the balance point is very important in doing any thing.
"Balance" is the key word, but there is different balance point for every people. What is yours? What is your limit?

Look from the Big and Do from the Small
Yesterday, when I was jogging with my Assistant General Manager, he did chat with me. I also shared something of my future with him, he did adviced me that to look from the big picture, but when start doing the things, you should prepare yourself from the small stuffs.
Perhaps, you can start with the big stuffs if you are afford to do that. But, i do feel that we shall build a firm foundation for ourself before move to further advance situation. I believe every things in this world do follow one unchangeable concept, that is the dependent origion.
If we do manage to handle and understand this concept,we do canhandle all the things in this world with a calm and wise mind.
Then, What is "Look Big", look big is telling me that, I should see something in a whole picture, not seeing only a corner of the picture, because I will lose something if I just see from a corner. Just like an example, if you are watching the stock market now, you should not just focus on Malaysia stock market, because if the economic of the world is badly affected, it will strongly affect malaysia stock market as well. We shall see from a big picture.
Therefore, in the real world, many people know this concept but they do forget to practice it in their life, therefore many problems happens in this world. Such as careless mistake, misunderstanding, and etc.
I did see many of this cases happen on the fresh graduate like me. We always aim to earn much money while getting into the working environment, always think to work in foreign country. But they do forget to see the big picture, which is their objective of earning much money is for what, and does this comapny offer them with this opportunity? Then, fresh graduate don't like to work the labour work, we always complain why should I do this, I am University Graduate. what do you think. We should do from the small position, Do any thing which we can help and learn from them. Then the knowledge will be one of your assest in the future.
"LOOK FROM BIG and DO FROM SMALL", I hope every graduate can success in their life.

Walking back from company
Today morning, I drive the company Van back to company together with my housemate (also colleague). Perhaps, we thought they will be someone fetch us back home after work. Therefore, we did not bring any helmet.
However, after work, everybody is leaving back home, I am waiting my colleague because we are going back together. We miss the transport back to home, so both of us have to walk back to home.
My house is around 1 km away from my company. While walking to home, I try to concentrate on my walking step. Whatsoever my mind is just like an untrained monkey, the mind can not relax and calm down. I have a lot of thinking in my mind. I try to watch my steps and counting for the steps. Whispering to myself, left...right...left...right...., I try to get my mind with me. But it is only for a moment.
"The untrained mind is very dangerous", this phase is always reminded in my mind. Untrained mind will cause many problem to our daily life, we can't even know what we are doing with the untrained mind. Our mind will lack of power, less energy.
Mind power is significant to improve ourself. therefore, I always tell myself to know what am I doing now. Perhaps, this reminder cause an unconcious disturbance in concentrating what we are doing.
Therefore, just be aware and relax on doing things. Don't put too much of pressure on it.
